What To Wear When You Want To Make Out You’re Going To London Fashion Week

Think statement coats, hard-working staples and contrary to public opinion - flat shoes

Tis a myth that London Fashion Week is all champagne and cocaine. It's more feet-on-fire and popcorn breath. That said, there's a certain high-coloured sass to the streetstyle that goes on - whatever the critics may say. It's an opportunity to mix prints and colours and try out things you might not normally have the tenacity to wear.

Thing is, that rule is a good one - even if you're not going anywhere near a catwalk show. Here's how to apply that freeeeeeing logic for an easy-to-wear wardrobe that packs a punch.

Clash your casual wear

Who can forget Leandra Medine in Acne's pink and red two-piece a few seasons back? Try the pink and red clash that your momma told you never to dare, but in very casual form: we're talking a t-shirt and loose slacks. Designer Remix are queen of the non-girly bubblegum. If that's not for you, try buttercup yellow and neon pink. Or crimson and apple green, like an apple cart. World's your oyster!

Pair a bonkers statement coat with brogues

This is like the most no-brainer of no brainers. From Shrimps to Gucci to Prada to Balmain, the haute bonkers coat has never been more of a trend. Antipodium's the best way to buy into this designer-but-just-about-affordable trend, with another brilliant statement coat covered in beagles. 2cute. Pair with statement brogues, because back-to-school-shoes with a subtly unique twist are massive this season.

Look for quietly unique, multi-wearable staples

Attention-seeking garms aren't for everyone, so if you want to look quietly super-stylish, then try a shirt dress (which can be dressed up or down), some Stan Smiths and bomber. Both are big trends this season - marrying grungey practicality with pared back androgyny - and were throughout the whole summer. Which makes the dreaded 'seasonal wardrobe' divide a thing of the past.
