There’s not much TV that starts in December (it’s all Christmas specials and animated feature films) but hopefully this new Netflix Original series will be able to fill the void. Based around the early life of explorer Marco Polo (one of the first Europeans to visit China in the 13th century. Don’t worry though, this is most certinaly not a boring historical drama, think Game of Thrones worthy battle and sex scenes and watch out for the dishy Lorenzo Richelmy as Marco.

Now – 19th December
We’ve already told you all about The Trouble Club; the club for women by women. Over December they’ve got some wicked ladies doing talks that you can totally attend. From Hadley Freeman talking about Dirty Dancing to Professor Sarah Churchwell on women in the golden age of Hollywood to Florence Keith-Roach talking about how normal your sex life is. Be quick though, it all finishes on the 19th with a big party DJ’ed by our very favourite Gemma Cairney.

England vs. Malawi Netball Series, Liverpool, London, Worcester
14-20th December
Think watching sports matches is just for boys? Fuck that. This December the England netball team are playing Malawi over a series of three matches around England. We’re currently ranked number three in the world and Malawi are number five, so it looks set to be a close series (which we’ll probably win, maybe).

I mean, haven’t you always wanted to look just like Spencer and his meaty sausage meat pecs? Nah, us either. Luckily this DVD also features Lucy, Binky and Proudlock. Each workout is 20 minutes long and you can choose from ‘Hiit the King’s Road’, ‘Toned in Time for St. Tropez’ and other hilariously named workouts.

Most exciting is probably Big Eyes, the new Tim Burton film starring Amy Adams and Christoph Waltz that tells the real life story of artist Margaret Keane who’s husband Walter Keane peddled her work as his own for over a decade. Also exciting? Angelina Jolie’s second directorial outing on Unbroken; the Jack O’ Connell starring film about an Olympic runner taken hostage by the Japanese in WWII. Also, don’t forget St. Vincent, the heartwarming new Bill Murray film about the friendship between a grumpy old man and a young boy.
