Alexander Wang has had us on a knife-edge waiting for his collaboration with H&M since it was announced at Coachella festival waaaaaay back in April, but the time is almost right to actually get hold of it (6 November, fyi, y’all).

Just to tease us even further, today the lookbook images of everything you’ll actually be able to buy have been set loose around the internet, and as the flashy campaign that came out during fashion month promised, it’s sportier than the lad down the gym with a protein shake habit.

There’s a waist-hugging scuba dress that’ll no doubt replace your more tradish LBD come gulp ‘party season’, athletic crop-tops that you can layer under anything, cut-out tops that don’t look a million miles away from what the designer showed at that little side project of his, Balenciaga, sporty leggings, pumped-up jackets and loose hockey jerseys that seem to have become the new favourite item of models backstage. All of it, of course, is unabashedly emblazoned with team ‘WANG’. There’s plenty of the menswear that’s worth a look too, especially if you like a slouchier sweater.

Fight for... The scuba dress

Everyone's going to want it, and with good reason - it's textbook Wang and it'll look as good with trainers as it will dressed up with a slinkier shoe. Plus it looks way more expensive than it is (with a hint of Stella Mccartney donchathink) and that waist detail is as flattering as it gets.

Fight for... The grey sweatshirt

It needs little explanation. You know you'll wear it with everything - and everyone will think the same.

Fight for... The snakey pullover jacket

Never had a practical jacket looked so off-the-catwalk. Make this your style armour all winter.

Why has nobody thought of this before? Two of your best-loved jackets rolled into one.

The Wang hockey top5 of 10

Because since Joan Smalls wore one of these in the ad campaign it's seemed like the only kind of sports shirt you've ever wanted to own, and we're pretty sure everyone's on the same page as you here.

You need to focus on snaffling the above in the initial furore but this directional jumper, seemingly summoned from the same part of Wang's brain as his Balengiaga creations is all you need to make a pair of black trousers look street-style worthy. Think of all the layering possibilities of its show-through too.

If you find a structured sweatshirt a bit unflattering (as anyone with big boobs and round hips might), then this fitted waist version is your way in. Something tells us it might be something of an underdog on the hanger alongside shoutier pieces, so you can hold out a little longer for it.

Just imagine this open over a jersey dress or with a long-sleeved thermal and skinny jeans. Here's hoping the menswear remains an unpicked goldmine while everyone makes a beeline for the scuba dress.

The LBD never gets old, simple as.

The you'll wear forever... The slouchy trousers10 of 10

The you'll wear forever... The slouchy trousers

Much has been made of the space-hockey leggings in this collection, but the trousers that will really have life in them are these slouchy ones - when are you ever not going to want to wear a pair of them, with sliders or trainers and your favourite jumper. A much more laid back way to wear high-shine too.

But because you know that competition is going to be tougher than ever for this killer-collaboration, we’ve decided to give you a helping hand. Here’s what you should make an instant dive for, what you should swerve until later (because there’s always a few great items that people miss in the initial rush that’s worth going back for), and what you will definitely wear forever...
