Made In Chelsea’s Frankie Gaffhas a few important things in life nailed. She has mastered the I’ve-spent-the-last-six-months-in-the-sun-sipping-kale-juice glow, she always seems to be on holiday and her Instagram is just shy of an editorial campaign for Hollister.

Meanwhile, we're over here on single digits, struggling to break through the dreaded ‘nine likes’ barrier because our snaps of avocado on toast look a bit like the half chewed ready salted crisps that someone incidentally spat onto a chipped white china plate. Dramatic, who?

I thought it would be a stellar idea to learn from one of the best so I quizzed the one and only Frankie Gaff to find out all of her very best Instagram tips and tricks. Oh and obvs I grilled her on the other Made In Chelsea lot too because the new season in Ibiza is almost here and we want to know everything.

Hey, Frankie! So, first things first. Have you ever uploaded a picture and deleted it because it didn’t get enough likes? BE HONEST.

Yes, I have! I will give it five minutes and if I already wasn’t sure on the picture anyway and it’s getting no interaction then I will be like ‘hm, yeah they’re right!’ so I’ll take it down. I uploaded one of me and my friend on a boat for my birthday with the sunset behind us and I uploaded it at a really bad time. After a bit, it got no likes so I deleted it. I’ve saved it and I’ll put it back up soon!

What’s your Instagram pet hate?

I hate really posed, overly-edited, heavy make-up pictures - I can’t deal with that! Oh and I also hate it when girls upload a photo of a celebrity and captions it ‘major celebrity crush!’ and it’s a celeb who looks exactly like them! Like really?! That is my pet hate! They’re like ‘Omg best looking person ever!’ and they’re only saying it, because they look like them.

How do you feel about PDA posts?

I think sometimes they’re cute, but some people definitely over do it. It seems like it’s not genuine when it’s too much. Jamie loves a really cute Instagram photo and it’s me who’s like ‘noooo!’

How many of the Made In Chelsea cast do you ACTUALLY follow on Instagram?

Ummm I think I follow all of them on Instagram!

What’s your go to Instagram filter?

I am not a massive filter person because I like it to look as natural as possible. I have this App called VSCO and it has the best range of filters! Lots of people have a really strict Instagram feed and that’s not me at all - I like to mix it up.

You always look FAB. What products do you use to look photo ready?

I massively into my skincare. At the moment, especially in Ibiza I haven’t worn any makeup in any of my pictures, just because I hate wearing make-up anyway! So instead I focus on my hair and skin. I’ve been using my 111 skin and all their range. For my hair, because it’s bleached and in the sun it can get really dry and break - it’s important to keep it in good condition. I use the Hairburst capsules and silk pillow to help keep my hair healthy.

BIG QUESTION - Do the Made In Chelsea gang have a giant Whatsapp group?

Yeah, we do! Obviously there is banter, but also it’s just so it’s easier to meet up on an evening and stuff!

How often do you post on Instagram? Do you follow a strict rule or are you hella chill?

I’m really bad! If I have a nice photo, it goes up straight away and sometimes I post three a day! Then I won’t post for two days, but I am trying to post every day. I’m really into photography and I just love photos.

Do you have any tips for the perfect selfie?

I bought a SLR camera and it’s the best thing I ever did - it makes such a difference to your photos. I love outdoor pictures and if you’re outdoors your guaranteed nice pictures!

Noted. Thanks, Frankie!

So there you have it! It’s okay to delete Instagram photos because they didn’t gain enough #engagement and your Auntie Sandra was right - skincare is v. important.

*Hairburst Mulberry Silk Pillow reduces hair fall and damage - tossing and turning at night can be damaging to the hair follicle, ultimately resulting in more frizz and less shine. The pillow also retains skin hydration - skin that lacks moisture appears dull, flaky and is prone to fine lines and wrinkles. *
