Ed Sheeran is everywhere. Quite literally, everywhere. There is no escaping this music man and by the sounds of things he has no intention of letting that happen.

While already dominating the music charts and casually sitting in competition with himself for Christmas number one (obviously), the latest piece of Ed Sheeran news to fall into our laps is that, yes, he’s written another song. But this time he’s anticipating following in the footsteps of Adele and Sam Smith. Ed Sheeran has written the theme song for a James Bond film. The only minor detail is that no one actually asked him to write one.

In an appearance on the* Late Late Show *in Ireland, Ed revealed that he's written a theme tune for the James Bond franchise and it's been in the pipe line for a strangely long time. 'With Bond, I’ve actually had a theme tune written for about three years, just in case', he said.

When asked if 'they', who we're guessing are the producers/Bond decision makers, had actually asked him to do a song yet, Ed admitted that no, no they haven't. There's being prepared but is this a little bit too much?

Zero spoilers were given about the song of course. 'I’m not going to say ’cause someone might steal it, but it’s good', said Ed. Good to know.

He went on to compare the process to when he recorded the new track 'River' with Eminem., a song that he had also keenly prepared in advance. 'When we did a song together, I had the song planned. So with Bond, if ever I'm called I'll be like "here you go"'.

Whether you're into it or not (we can't quite workout what a sexy Ed Sheeran Bond song would sound like either, tbh), no doubt the 007 producers have Ed Sheeran at the top of their lists. It's only a matter of time before all music is Ed Sheeran music, really...
