It's the first Pret item to sell out in the morning - the elusive Power Pot. An all-in-one combo of beans and sausages, topped with a poached egg, it's the perfect breakfast for the busy guy or gal on the run. If you happen to find the Power Pot shelf mournfully empty by the time you drag your heels into Pret before work, don't fear - you can rustle up something similar in no time with a few simple ingredients. Here's a how-to guide on making your own Poached Eggs, Sausage & Beans Power Pot.

1. Get your ingredients

Buy eggs and beans. Better yet, buy baked beans that contain pork sausages, a simple but life-changing shortcut.

2. Heat the beans

Decant your baked beans into a ramekin (or a bowl, whatever) and microwave on high for 1 minute.

3. Prepare your egg

Fill a mug with water, and crack one egg into it, before microwaving on high for about 1 minute and 15 seconds.

4. Compile your pot

The egg should be nicely poached by now, so gently pour the water out of the mug and carefully lift the egg into your ramekin of beans. Season as desired and enjoy a heartily protein packed breakfast from the comfort of your desk!
