11 Red Carpet Looks From The Cast Of Friends That Are So 90s It Hurts

So no one told them life was going to be a 10-year whirlwind of filming, negotiating pay rises and making red carpet appearances – when it came to the latter, the cast of Friends always pulled it out the bag. Whether it was the Primetime Emmy Awards, movie premieres or just another Hollywood excuse for a party, JenAn and co. always got our attention.

Here are 11 of our favourite Friends red carpet looks that are a glittering reflection of the 90s and early 00s. If only they still went everywhere together. Sob.

1. The One With All The Crochet

Before the Kardashians were going out in just their bras, Jennifer Aniston played peekaboo in this crochet cardi and high-waisted trouser combo, which was positively risqué back in the 90s. Completing the look with a slither of silver eyeshadow and THAT feathered hair, this is classic Rachel, and we love it.

2. The One With The Sunglasses

In case you weren't invited, the 47th annual Primetime Emmys was a super sunny affair, with Matt Le Blanc accessorising for the occasion. Shame about the three-piece suit and boots, though; that must have been sweaty.

3. The Other One With The Sunglasses

Lisa Kudrow also dug out her shades for the Emmys in 1995, but stayed cool in her column dress, back when that little side split was probably considered shocking. Sadly her golden handbag was the only trophy she got her hands on that night, after being nominated as Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Comedy Series, and losing out to Christine Baranski (Google her, she's been in everything).

4. The One Where Phoebe Went To Prom

Irridescent fabric? Check. Plenty of diamantés? Check. All Lisa Kudrow was missing at the 2000 Emmys was a corsage or else she could have rocked up to a high school prom straight after. We're sure they would have let her in, anyway.

5. The One With All The Combovers

Heyyyy, how you doin'? Matthew Perry and Matt Le Blanc did their best Chandler and Joey at a Homeless 4 Hockey event in 1994, complete with combover, slightly bouffant hairstyles, and contrasting nice guy/bad boy jackets. Ant and Dec should totally take styling tips from these two.

6. The One Where JenAn Did Posh Spice

We would 100% wear Jennifer Aniston's spaghetti strapped LBD and sandals now. The woman is timeless.

7. The One With The Wardrobe Malfunction (Or Is It?)

Has Courteney Cox lost a strap? Hasn't she? Who knows, but she pulled off the Courtney Love homage well, while Lisa Kudrow and JenAn took a backseat in black. Sometimes it's best not to steal Monica's thunder.

8. The One With The Threesome

'If you wannabe my lover, you gotta get with my friends' is what we imagine Courteney Cox told future husband David Arquette before this photo was taken. With their co-ordinating pashminas, Courteney and Lisa fully embraced the prom vibes again, while David pretty much looks like the cat who got the cream – but don't think we didn't notice his jazzy lapels.

9. The One With The Gloves

Back at it again with the 1995 Emmys, it seems that Rachel and Chandler forgot their sunnies and even dared to wear some cold weather accessories. Yep, we're talking about JenAn's very Marilyn Monroe gloves, which probably came in handy when clutching Matthew's presumably sweaty paw. Top marks for the bracelet over the gloves, too; diamonds are a girls best friend and all that.

10. The One With Ross And Rachel

Suited and booted, it looks like Jen and David gave each other a heads-up on colour co-ordination before they headed out. Case in point: Jen's bag strap, which totally matches David's jacket. He's her lobster!

11. The One With All The Spray Tans

You know you've reached the 00s when everyone has a golden beachy vibe going on and the Friends are finally grasping the Emmy for Best Comedy Series. Could there BE a better accessory?
