Yesterday, viable (sigh) presidential candidate Donald Trump, decided to round off his interview with a Washington Post reporter by hitting on her. Because, well, do you really expect anything different at this point?
Karen Attiah, the Deputy Digital Editor for the Washington Post's Opinions section found herself in a room with Trump yesterday when he came to visit her offices and took the opportunity to ask him about how unpopular he's proving to be with Hispanic voters; something that may or may not have everything to do with calling Mexicans 'rapists' and expressing his desire to build a giant wall (that they're going to pay for) to keep them out of America. If we haven't said it before, we'll say iy again; what a guy.
Anyway - Trump said a bunch of silly things in response to Karen's questions like, 'I'm doing very well with Hispanics' (a recent poll actually put 77% of Hispanic voters against Trump), and 'Uh I am the least racist person that you will ever meet' before going onto say there is a serious problem with 'the Muslims'. Way to differentiate between a legitimate religion and 'religious' extremists there Donald you big non-racist you.
After the meeting, Karen thanked Trump for taking her questions to which she said he responded, 'I really hope I answered your question.... Beautiful.'
Karen says she was 'stunned', 'didn't say thank you' and 'I don't think I smiled'. She said, 'I stayed in the conference room for a few minutes as it sunk in that the potential GOP nominee for president thought it was okay to comment on my appearance. Did he just say that?'
The more frustrating thing though is not that Donald Trump did something douchey and sexist (have you read the news once in the last year) it's that Karen, a professional woman who deserves a workplace that doesn't involve people commenting on her appearance, is getting hate; even from non-Trump supporters.

TBH, Karen summed it up perfectly; 'Perhaps he thought that calling me beautiful would make me ignore the fact that he brazenly lied about his polling numbers among Hispanic voters. Or make me believe that he wasn’t really a racist. Who knows?' She said. 'At least now I know, firsthand, that the sexism that Trump puts on display against Megyn Kelly under the lights of national TV is not that much different from how he is in real life toward female journalists.'
