Growing up British meant that most of your school life was spent voluntarily, or involuntarily, separated from the opposite sex. From sports lessons to the dining hall we tended to stick in single sex groups.

Venturing into the opposite camp can, sometimes, be a bit of a culture shock.

This was definitely the case for 20 year old University of London student, Robbie Stowers, who shared a room with three female strangers on his recent ski trip to Tignes, France

After registering late for the trip he was randomly assigned a room with Charlotte, Abbie and Fish (a nickname given to her as she is a swimmer), who introduced him to trials and tribulations of 'the girl world'.

Hair everywhere, the designated mum figure looking after the group, communal make-up bags. overanalysing messages from guys - these are things pretty much every girl can relate to. But it turns out that if you're a guy, these things can be a bit of a mystery...

In fact Stowers had no idea what he was in for, saying in an interview with Buzz Feed that he prepared to sleep on the floor if the girls felt uncomfortable. Luckily, "They were very welcoming and friendly as soon as I walked in," he said.

Yet despite his welcoming reception, he quickly noticed the differences between genders and decided to recorded his experiences all in a thread of hilariously relatable tweets that have since gone viral.

One of them described the ultimate unwritten rule: All clothes packed are communal property.

Or golden rule number one when it comes to make-up application.

Or how each girl group ALWAYS has the designated make-up pro.

He even tweeted about his discovery of the wonders of boob tape.

Stowers definitely got stuck in, posting a video of him trailing the painful routine of eyebrow plucking with videos to prove it. [Disclaimer: It definitely does hurt].

Naturally, the internet LOVED the thread with loads of people commenting on how true it is.
