We Asked an Astrologer About Brexit’s Astrological Chances

Astrologer Shelley von Strunckel told us what it all means…

We Found Out Brexit’s Astrological Chances

The date the UK will FINALLY leave the EU is set as 11pm 29th March 2019, it has been announced. But what does it mean in the stars? We asked sun sign astrologer Shelley Von Strunckel to gauge its chances based on the stars and the moons.

‘Political astrology is based on the chart, that is, the planetary setup on the actual date, and although the Sun is in Aries, the really important planets, the two planetary heavyweights in such matters, the tough Saturn and Pluto, planet of vast wealth, secrets and manipulation are both in Capricorn. This is the sign of government, business and power. And with the Moon, which accents the collective attitude, also in Capricorn, the mood will be unsympathetic. Together, these factors indicate changes in government, in many forms, and the world over.'

Because Pluto itself signifies money, banking and hidden information, not only will there be big changes in the run up to 29th March 2019, but there are bound to be revelations of many varieties ahead.

‘By the way, Saturn’s move into Capricorn, on 20th December of this year, kick starts this dramatic cycle of change, revelation and exposure, and not just in government.

‘Yes, that means the Weinstein story was only just the beginning.’

Stellar stuff (sorry) from Shelley there. From the looks of it, Brexit is coinciding with a huge political moment, and the news is only going to get wilder from here until then. Stick with us, and we'll keep you updated.

It could may well be, though, that March 2019 has something other than Brexit in store for us. That’s what the person who drafted Article 50 has said.

Lord Kerr, the former UK ambassador to the European Union, who had a hand in creating, the piece of legislation which allows us to exit the EU, told BBC Radio 4’s Today programme: ‘At any stage we can change our minds if we want to, and if we did we know that our partners would actually be very pleased indeed.’

‘The Brexiters create the impression that is because of the way article 50 is written that having sent in a letter on 29 March 2017 we must leave automatically on 29 March 2019 at the latest. That is not true.

'It is misleading to suggest that a decision that we are taking autonomously in this country about the timing of our departure, we are required to take by a provision of EU treaty law’

When asked if this might go against that all-fabled will of the people, The Guardian reports that Lord Kerr quoted Brexit Secretary David Davis in response: ‘The David Davis quote I would offer you comes from 2012 when he said: ‘A democracy that has lost the right to change its mind has ceased to be a democracy.’

Meanwhile, David Davis continues talks with the EU’s chief negotiator, Michel Barnier.
