Just when you thought the Stranger Things cast couldn’t possibly bless us with any more amazing moments, Gaten Matarazzo and Joe Keery showed up to the SAG awards with matching hair. The unexpected bromance – it even surprised the showrunners - between Dustin and Steve was one of the sweeter moments of the last season and at the awards on Sunday the cast once again showed how strong their bond is in real life.
In the season 2 finale, Steve makes Dustin over into a mini-me for the Snowball dance, letting Dustin in on his hair regime: Faberge Organics shampoo and conditioner, four pumps of Farah Fawcett spray. It looks like Keery, who once threatened to shave of his infamously buoyant hair, must have given Matarazzo some tips off sett too. Matarazzo’s normally curly locks were slicked back in Keery’s signature style as the cast, all nominated for ‘Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series,’ stepped out at the star-studded event. This *is Us *ultimately won the category but the Stranger Things cast were the winners on the red carpet.
The co-stars didn’t walk together on the red carpet but that didn’t stop eagle-eyed fans of the show from spotting the reference.
This isn’t the first time the Stranger Things cast have shone on the red carpet. Ridiculously stylish for their ages, the teens have had fans and style gurus alike applauding their award show outfits. But it’s not just their clothes – and now their hair – that makes their red-carpet appearances so endearing: it’s that you can see that they are genuinely friends.
There won’t be any more Stranger Things until deep breath 2019! But whatever the show’s writer have lined up better included lots more Dustin and Steve moments. Until then there’s always these pics of Joe and Gaten hanging out.
