People Are Really Not Into Muggy Mike’s Celebs Go Dating Antics

Celebs Go Dating is back! The dating show for... (you guessed it) celebs which sees them paired up with normal folk to try and find long-lasting love.

This season stars our fave Gemma Collins, comedian London Hughes, singer Tallia Storm, Olympian Jade Jones, Made In Chelsea stars Sam Thompson and Ollie Locke, actor Jonathan Lipnicki and Love Island’s Mike Thalassitis AKA Muggy Mike.

So far Mike has annoyed viewers endlessly with his arrogance, saying he is ‘too good’ for the women he’s being set up with.

‘I know I might act like I’m this big time geezer and I’m too good for all these girls,’ he said on the show, ‘but I don’t fancy them.’

‘I’m having a lot of fun as a single guy so I’m not going to give that up for other than spectacular.’

Ermmmm so just stay single?

Earlier in the series Mike made a joke about drunk sex with one of his dates, Emma, prompting even more angry tweets.

'You're drunk so I'll put you in a cab home unless you want to do something you regret tomorrow, like have sex,’ he said.

Mike’s highlights so far also include priceless quotes such as; ‘She’s gagging for a bit of Magic Mike, so would be rude to leave her hanging. We did have a cheeky kiss, but let’s be honest she stuck it on me.’

And viewers aren’t the only ones not impressed by his antics, Mike’s parents are reportedly not speaking to him since watching the episode where he asked his drunk date for sex.

It seems that Mike is starting to understand that his actions haven’t been the best, saying he’s more hostile since leaving Love Island.

‘After Love Island, all the crazy parties and the people coming up to you in the street, you do become a little bit more hostile.’

‘So if I don't like you I'm not going to pretend to be really nice to you. It seems like everyone's out to get you, people want to see you slip up constantly. So yeah, if I don't like you and I'm not really trying to get to know you then you're not going to see my best side.’

Unfortunately many viewers won’t be surprised by Mike’s actions, he’s not the only guy who acts like this – the toxic masculinity, assessing women based purely on their looks, and assumption that women are there purely to service him are not unfamiliar.

Mike originally got his muggy name on Love Island when he chose to couple up with Olivia Attwood, who was already dating Chris Hughes on the show. Chris called him Muggy Mike, and he can’t seem to shake the nickname.
