Kesha has filed a lawsuit against her producer Dr. Luke, alleging that he forced her to drink alcohol, gave her pills that affected her memory and sexually assaulted her.

The suit says the producer, whose real name is Lukasz Sebastian Gottwald, emotionally and physically abused Kesha over their 10-year working relationship.

In it, she says he once forced her to snort drugs before getting on a plane, then assaulted her while on that trip. She says he started making advances towards her when she was 18, right when she began working with him.

He would allegedly force her to drink and then take advantage of her while she was drunk or high. The details are pretty horrifying. One time, she says, he gave her pills that he said would sober her up, but instead she passed out and woke up ‘sore, sick and naked in his bed,’ with no memory of what happened.

Kesha’s eating disorder is a direct result of the manipulation and emotional and physical abuse, says her lawyer Mark Geragos, and she is asking to be released from her contract with the producer. TMZ has seen the court documents, but doesn’t say if the charges could lead to jail time for Gottwald, the report only says she’s asking a judge to release her from their professional contract.

Geragos says: ‘This lawsuit is a wholehearted effort by Kesha to regain control of her music career and her personal freedom after suffering for 10 years as a victim of mental manipulation, emotional abuse and an instance of sexual assault at the hands of Dr. Luke. The facts presented in our lawsuit paint a picture of a man who is controlling and willing to commit horrible acts of abuse in an attempt to intimidate an impressionable, talented, young female artist into submission for his personal gain. Kesha is focused on moving her life and her career beyond this terrible time.’

Dr. Luke has filed a counter-suit against the singer, saying she had the abuse allegations in her back pocket for months, threatening to file them as a lawsuit unless he released her from her contract. He's responsible for some of the world's biggest pop hits in recent years, including Miley Cyrus's Party In The USA, Katy Perry's I Kissed A Girl and Kelly Clarkson's Since You've Been Gone, as well as loads more.
