Madonna’s BUM And Other Important Things That Happened At Last Night’s Grammys

Yes, some people won some awards for some music, but LOADS of other amazing stuff happened at last night's Grammys...

Last night saw slebs congegrate for the Grammys, and while Twitter breathed a sigh of relief that Iggy Azalea didn't win Best Rap Album, it also went mental over Madonna's outfit choice and Sia's decision to rock the biggest hair ever seen on a red carpet.

But first, Madonna's arse. She turned up at the awards ceremony wanting us all to talk about it - and who are we to deny the whims of a music legend? Bound by what looked like three black scrunchies, she framed her butt cheeks underneath fish nets in an attempt to channel a sort of Steampunk German Barmaid From The 1890s vibe which, granted, isn't something we often see on the red carpet.

Twitter responded as was expected - by nearly exploding. To be fair although some people on Twitter were being pretty mean about it ('at her age...' etc etc), she's got a pretty amazing bum by anyone's standard. If we had that bum, we'd probably get it out all the time too.

Kanye West nearly does another 'Imma let you finish…'

Oh dear lord. So apparently this wasn't a joke, even though we genuinely thought it was, because Beck's win for Best Album was interrupted by Kanye nearly repeating that infamous time he stormed the stage during Taylor Swift's thank you speech at the 2009 VMAs. As Beck was about to speak, Kanye went to grab the mic - and then walked back down the stairs, allowing us all to think he had a sense of humour. But then he's only gone and ruined it by telling the press it was genuine. 'I just know that the Grammys, if they want real artists, to keep coming back, they need to stop playing with us. We ain't gonna play with them no more,' he said, on social media, pissed off that Beck had won. 'And Beck needs to respect artistry and he should've given his award to Beyonce.'

He then went on to add that he didn't rush the stage for the sake of his daughter: 'I'm gonna do nothing to put my daughter at risk, but I am here to fight for creativity. That's the reason why I didn't say anything tonight, but you all know what it meant when Ye (referring to himself) walked out on that stage!'

I mean, the man is incredible.

**Sia had very big hair **

Actually, there's not much to say about this. But look at her hair! It's so big! OK cool.

Everyone collaborated with everyone else

It was a night of amazing collaborations - from Usher and Stevie Wonder to Jessie J and Tom Jones. Sam Smith and Mary J Blige took home the Shivers Down The Spine award. The stripped-back, haunting performance - complete with full choir - was the most magical, if least flashy, part of the live section. But these things are pretty subjective - Sia performing Chandelier with Kristen Wiig doing a bit of dancing was also one of our faves. And omigod, Rihanna, Kanye and Paul McCartney! Alright, OK, they're all worth a watch.

Everyone lost their shit over Prince

It was as if nobody had seen Prince before - because when he came onstage, the entire internet erupted. And he didn't even sing, or anything - just introduced the Grammy for Album of the Year and casually mentioned how 'Albums still matter. Like books and black lives'. The coolest soundbite of the evening by far, and the man was in all orange sporting a bejewelled cane. Kanye? This is how it's done.

** President Obama condemns sexual violence, and Katy Perry focuses on domestic abuse **

Amid the fun, there was also a serious message underlying the Grammys last night - with both Katy Perry and Barack Obama drawing attention to sexual violence and domestic abuse. Obama's Public Service Announcement focused on getting artists to stand up against rape and other violence against women, speaking about the rape stats at college campuses. He urged everyone watching to be more vocal in condemning sexual assault. After this, Katy Perry invited director of communications for Allies Against Slavery onto the stage to tell her story of domestic abuse. Her partner had become violent, and eventually threatened to kill her, but Brooke had found help and told her mother about what had happened. After the moving story, Katy then went on to sing By The Grace Of God in a stripped-down performance that made us all think. Yeah, Madonna might have got her bum out - but there are more important things that should be making headlines.
