Fifty Shades of Grey just got a whole lot sexier thanks to the blonde-haired powerhouse that is Ellie Goulding (no, not her lookalike boyfriend, Dougie Poynter). While Ellie has been riding on the whole ‘Calvin Harris dance thing’ for a while, her new song Love Me Like You Do (below) is pretty much an emo declaration of love, describing the intense relationship between Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele.
With lyrics like ‘You’re the cure, you’re the pain, you’re the only thing I want to touch,’ we have a funny feeling she might be referring to her loved-up situation with her boyf. I mean, have you seen their recent holiday pictures in Miami? So adorable! (On a side note, anyone else think it’s so random they’re hanging out with Craig David on holiday? Amazing but random.)
Anyway, this song is seriously sentimental – the perfect ballad for ‘a hairbrush as a microphone moment’ in front of the mirror with a swift clutching of thin air in a Westlife kind of way. You know the one.
With rumours of The Weeknd’s seductive Earned It track and a new version of Beyoncé’s Crazy in Love to feature in the film, Ellie’s sexy song has got us beyond excited for the film’s release in February.
If you’re not having one of those ‘can’t get this song out of my head’ type crisis by the end of the day… well, something is seriously wrong.
