When the troop of Burberry models stomped down the AW 2014 catwalk, each clad in a rich woollen poncho bearing their personal initials, there was a unanimous swoon. And when we started spotting them in the street, having swirled them over their shoulders and skinny jeans, we wanted one even more.

But let’s be realistic. We’re not Cara Delevingne, and no one is about to gift us a monogrammed anything, let alone a £895 poncho.
