It's all change for Changing Room Selfies! This week, we're going niche – trying on all the great that's made especially for tiny girls in Topshop.

It’s no secret to anyone that I’m lacking in the height department. Made all the more obvious by the fact my boyfriend is 6ft 4, I spend 80 per cent of the time looking like I could be sitting in his pocket, and the other 20 per cent trying to find trousers that I don’t have to roll up four times before they look wearable and mini dresses that don’t accidentally double up as midis. (OK, it’s not that bad, but you get the gist).

Topshop hardly ever let me down with their Petite range. And today's trip there was no exception. Here's what's in store – and great for us small ladies, right now:

The midriff exposer

1

'How much midriff is too much midriff?' I hear you cry! Being the style Puritan that I am, I did deliberate whether this was a bit cheeky – but hey! The weather’s been hot and it’s pretty nineties, so this ticks the boxes, amirite? The cutesy gingham skirt is also part of a two-piece too – which also supplies additional style kudos.

Gingham Pelmet Skirt, £34 and Bobble Lace Crop Tee, £16

The holiday hero

I like to call this my Leonardo DiCaprio in _Romeo & Juliet l_ook; which, in anyone’s opinion, can only ever be a good thing (and certainly wiped all initial thoughts of looking like a seriously keen-o holiday maker out of my head). With a cute tie ready for you to wear (minimal faff for maximum effect) this shirt would also look rad with a structured midi if you want to get all ’50s chic too. Plus, having suitably small pins these shorts don't look like culottes, either, and sit happily on the hips – ie where they're supposed to.

Bright Leaf Printed Shirt, £32 and Vintage High Waisted Hotpants, £28

The zany print

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Is it a co-ord? Nope! It’s a dress! Gotcha! (Or the lazy girls answer to a faux-ord, which I’m officially making a thing). Plus, if there’s one way to get into the summer mood it’s with a good old palm print and some cheeky cut-out detail. Both of which are evident here.

Tropical Leaf Print Dress, £65

The zany print x2

As you can tell by my complete goofing about, I’m a big fan of a printed two piece (really? You hadn’t mentioned, Liv) and this little set was so relaxed and soft they could double up as a pair of pyjamas if you’re that way inclined. Although they initially reminded me a little of some massive board shorts my dad/brother owned in the nineties, I’m pretty sure this print is subtle enough to wear with pretty much anything. And they got that PJ feel too, mhmm.

Tropical Print Cami Top, £10 and Tropical Print Shorts, £18

**The strapless number **

I am a big fan of a slinky playsuit but being a bit of a shorty strapless doesn’t usually work with my less than buxom (what. a. word) chest. But fear not! This strapless number held up during some impromptu changing room dancing/posing sessions. It came home with me. And my mum even passed comment: ‘Oh THAT looks nice!’

Bandeau Skort Playsuit, £48

The sporty number

After getting a bit summer co-ord crazy, I couldn’t resist going for something a bit more sporty/Mr T inspired and this vest supplied the cheerleader/jock feeling in abundance (although I definitely may have got size-up happy here). Teamed with these feather print joggers, they added a bit of a boho feel to an otherwise running-man look. Which is the only way I can explain my somewhat odd pose.

Sports Trim Vest, £16 and Feather Print Joggers, £35

Side note: feel free to ignore my bare feet all day. Apparently my multi-tonal strappy sandals don’t go with anything but jeans. A lesson for all changing room devotees.
