They're not that scary. Promise.

CROP-HERO

It's time to get used to it, the midriff is here to stay. For the summer, at least. But don't be scared. Because a) this is a trend that's got youth on it's side; and b) crops don't have to be skimpy and sexy. They can even work for work.

Here are four looks we're liking

Try Béyonce on the top half...

...with some oversized casual denim on the bottom. Even a belly chain can be balanced out by some loose-fit vintage jeans. Plus, a cropped leather tee works multiple ways and can be worn with both pencil skirts and baggy jeans alike.

Or, why not opt for a crop bustier over a tee?

This turqouise leather bustier screams 'vintage', but you can stop yourself from looking like a cliché by wearing a basic marl T-shirt underneath. Add a tangle of chains if you want to rock it up a bit.

Crops can work for work, too...

A sleeveless black 'v' crop is an easy trick to jazz up your work wardrobe when put together with a silky Cara-style evening blouse. A white shirt and some striped trousers might be a bit 'meh' on their own, but a crop top layered over it creates a whole new, ultra-modern silhouette.

Or summon some sass and do a bra as a crop top

And by that we mean a sports bra. Specifically one with an ice-white logo. This Nike crop top looks great worn alone underneath dungarees when the sun comes out.
