It’s started. The wedding invitations are landing on your door mat and your summer weekends are beginning to look like a marathon of confetti throwing, church going and speech cringing.

So whether you are a wedding virgin or aficionado, we've made a GIF guide to prepare you for everyone else's big day.

1. Say goodbye to all your money. A new outfit, travel, accommodation, a GIFT... wouldn't it be better for everyone if you just sent a cheque!

2. Invest in a great statement hat. It will squeeze your head all day and then an elderly relative will sit on it.

3. Greet everyone like you're delighted to see them even if you can’t remember their name.

… apart from that creepy uncle

4. Make sure you're in as many of the photos as possible. The bride and groom will be so glad of the memories.

5. Remember, it's a free bar. You know what to do:

6. OWN the dance floor. As soon as the first dance is over, of course.

7. Locate the hottest singleton before they go home with a bridesmaid.

8. But... just make sure you have a quick getaway for the morning after.
