What to do if you're sick of being single and exhausted by dating? Erm, hold boyfriend auditions obviously.

In a hilarious video made by the funny people over at Buzzfeed, single girl Jessie starts off by explaining that ‘I’m single, like really single.’ And can't be bothered to date any more. In order to find a boyfriend, she thought that, because she’s in LA ‘The easiest thing to do would be to hold a casting call.’ None of the actors had any idea that they were auditioning to be Jessie’s boyfriend.

She starts out with a few simple questions, ‘Do you have a history of male pattern baldness in your family?’ and ‘Who’s your dream girl?’ Things get a little bit hairy at one point when she asks an auditionee why every guy is obsessed with Natalie Portman, 'You’re almost TOO Jewish,' he says, 'She’s just got a sprinkling of Jew,’ the charming chap replies.

Next up the men are required to act out a scene from everyone’s favourite romantic manipulative tear jerker The Notebook which ends in the guys simulating a kiss with thin air which turns out to be about as sexy as when Mark and Jez snog people at that weird camera angle in Peep Show.

Finally however, Jessie gets to the important stuff; seeing what her potential boyfriend looks like while saying the stuff you really want him to say and so makes the participants recite things like, ‘Do you wanna go hold hands in the rain outside your ex-boyfriends' house?’ and ‘Your feminist rhetoric turns me.’

When all’s said and done though, and she’s picked a happy winner, it turns out that there’s just one question that Jessie forgot to ask. ‘I’m getting married in August’ the successful auditionee says not-too-regretfully when Jessie proposes. Yeah, might have been a good idea to ask if they were single first.

Shucks, better luck next time babe.
