You all know Brooklyn right? That place just outside Manhattan where everyone lives in Girls and indie films about New York? It’s America's version of Dalston, except rent’s more expensive.
Anyways, a lot of people from there are all riled up because a girl called Catey Shaw has made a video for her new song Brooklyn Girls which is kind of ruining the whole thing about Brooklyn being cool in the first place by using every cliche going. You’ve got to watch the video yourself to make your mind up if it's the end of humanity as we know it but some choice lyrics to give you the general idea are as follows; ‘Cause we play rough and gritty, They all want to catch our kitty’ and ‘Jay-Z bumps in her headphones, drinks on top of the Brownstones’.
Right.
The normally measured internet community haven't been very nice about Catey's video;

Vice have called the video ‘The Rebecca Black Friday video of Brooklyn gentirfication’, which is our favourite put down of the week. Time meanwhile are taking the video as solid proof that ‘Brooklyn is officially no longer cool.’
Ouch, here's hoping Catey finds a better reception with whatever her future endeavours might be.
