You Can Now Get Your Emoji Use Psychoanalysed

In a sentence that would confuse your parents, and which simply wouldn’t have existed before 2012 and which probably would’ve sent Sigmund Freud into a manic episode himself, there’s a new Tumblr page that will psychoanalyse your most recently used emojis.

Emojinalysis, run by Dan Brill, is where you can send in screengrabs of your most recently used emojis (you know that little tab with the clock symbol on, that’s where your most recently used emojis are) and have them taken apart.

After a few sentences about what the emojis could mean, Dan suggests a ‘diagnostic emoji’ to indicate one which sums you up, and a ‘prescribed emoji’ to apply to those emojis used.

Right now, we’re waiting on Dan to get back to us about our recent emoji use. But the proliferation of every different type of smiley face, sassy women (the ones in the pink primping their hair), sticky-outy tongues and monkeys covering their eyes means that he’s probably going to say something about how silly we are. Which we’d have to agree with; look at what we get to write about for work!

FYI, if you’re looking for a way to use those weird emojis that no-one seems to understand, check outour guide to them right here on* The Debrief*. Plus ask yourself a question: would you really wear a poo on your shoe? Now that’s something Sigmund Freud would gladly get stuck into.
