Now that email has been around for longer than actual pop stars alive right now, it’s clear we’re not alone in having an embarrassing share of erstwhile email addresses from back when we didn’t quite realise how work/life appropriate they had to be.
Whether it’s suffixing everything with ‘69’ when we were aged 13 and thought oral sex was literally blowing on someone’s genitals, or calling ourselves ‘lil miss’, including the year the email address was* made*, not our birth year, in the text, or simply having any address ending in ‘hotmail.com’, there are a load of embarrassments in the annals of the internet.
However, we’re totally safe in our shame, because, according to Lorde, Jennifer Lawrence’s current address – not her old one – has ‘butt’ in it.
Thankfully, Lorde doesn’t go into detail about the rest of the email address, but you can bet there’s a legion of fans out there trying out email addresses including every permutation of ‘Jennifer’ and ‘Butt’ so they can discover the actress’s contact details.
We’re guessing the ‘win’ Lorde is referring to in her tweet is Win Butler, from Arcade Fire, whom she tweeted was a ‘true inspiration’ last year . He was also at the Much Music Awards where Lorde performed last night, and he’s no stranger to young Hollywood stars – Andrew Garfield recently featured in the music video for We Exist.
Maybe Win got Jennifer’s email address from Lorde so he can ask the Hunger Games star to feature in an Arcade Fire video? It might not happen, butt it would be fun if it did?
