There's much to love about Clueless – barely a day goes by in this office where we don't mention Cher Horowitz and her status as a remarkable sartorial influencer – but the bit that we dream of owning, in much the same way that a five year old hankers for a magical dressing up box, is Cher's virtual closet. You remember – this:
Well, now you can. For reals. Business Of Fashion has reported on an elite new virtual closet service, Closet HQ, which promises to digitalise your wardrobe. Founder Jason Campbell – who previously worked as a stylist and personal shopper for Wendi Deng and Ivanka Trump – actually comes into your home with his troupe of photographers and assistants and photographs your entire closet. Over two days, he shoots everything styled up on a mannequin, and then catalogues and digitally archives the images so you have a virtual, scrollable wardrobe that you can access on a whim.
What’s even better is that you have your own stylist attached. So, if you don't even have time to scroll, ClosetHQ can do that for you. Jason's clients will send him a list of their forthcoming events and he will pull outfits for them based on the occasion. Short of putting the tights on your legs for you (we haven't asked, it may be a possibility), he’s your ‘everything man’ when it comes to fashion.
Sadly, and as you've probably gathered by now, Jason is not going to be your fashion everyman. Jason won’t disclose how much the ClosetHQ service costs, but there's a sizeable sign-up payment and then a monthly retainer on top of that for his services. Which leaves us back where we started: dreaming of Cher's life. And using closet management apps such as Pose, Closet and Stylitics in the meantime.
