'Rih what the fuck you got in there lmfao,' said one incredulous fan under @badgirlriri's instagram shot yesterday of her frankly ginormous backpack. Fair enough, we thought. After all, it does look like Rihanna's coming back from her GAP year with a whole load of swag she picked up on her travels. (Fisherman pants galore, anyone?)
But upon further investigation it's clear that Rihanna hasn't jacked in her job to go travelling. She's actually just helpfully debuting the latest piece of clothing designed by her stagewear designer, Adam Selman. The £425 silk Oversized Stars Backpack is part of his collection being sold at everyone's favourite quirky concept store, Opening Ceremony. 'The designer behind Rihanna's stagewear has released his first collection and it's everything you'd hope it could be,' they put it quite reasonably. 'Sultry, comfortable, feminine and tough are all rolled into one silky, pastel wardrobe that suits both the boudoir and the Bowery Ballroom.'
We can't say we totally get that second bit. After all, that backpack might look a bit OTT when you're doing the fox trot. But we do think that Selman's Cropped Jean Jacket would be a great spring staple. If you've got a spare £382 hanging around.
