A judge in California has ordered Chris Brown to stay in jail for a month, saying he doesn’t trust the singer to stay out of trouble.

Brown was kicked out of rehab last week after violating several rules including reportedly touching a female patient on the elbow and hands, refusing to take a random drug test and saying negative things about rehab during a group therapy session.

The no-touching rule was specific to Brown, as his treatment related to an assault on his then-girlfriend Rihanna the night before the Grammys in 2009.

It’s also reported Brown told people in the rehab facility: ‘I’m good at using guns and knives’, which concerned Superior Court Judge James R. Brandlin. The judge says Brown must remain in jail until April 23.

The singer had been receiving treatment for bipolar disorder, past substance abuse, anger management, post-traumatic stress disorder and sleep deprivation.

He is due to stand trial in a separate criminal assault case in the Washington D.C. area on April 17. It’s not clear if he will be permitted to leave California to appear in court in D.C.
